Overview
Pommery Apanage Brut
The Apanage cuvée has been designed as a confidential cuvée dedicated to fine dining.
This cuvée has been created by meticulously selecting 17 villages which have a strong identity and a close link to Pommery. These terroirs, which are articulated around the solid foundation represented by the Montagne de Reims, yield exceptional grapes every year, which are the indispensable basis for the creation of the Pommery style.
"Apanage" is evocative of distinction and privilege. The signature of Apanage is also a reinforced proportion of Chardonnay to provide the wine with a sensation of unctuosity and elegance which is indispensable in the world of culinary arts. Fine reserve wines, from the POMMERY collection, round off the right proportions of the blend. Finally, this fine selection of terroirs would not make sense without a longer maturation of at least four years. This blend requires a lower dosage in line with the spirit desired by Madame Pommery, namely a "velvety and well-matured" Champagne.
Tasting Notes:
The wine presents itself with a superb pale yellow colour with very light golden reflections.
The bubbles are fine and delicate.
On the nose, the finely buttery almost pastry-based aromas are quickly joined by a bouquet of forest flowers and notes of candied citrus and blood orange. Some notes of refreshing red
berries are subtly revealing themselves.
The straight attack, the freshness and the length are the characteristics of this fine wine. The creamy notes are associated on the palate with notes of dried apricot and citrus fruits. Some floral, almost honey-like notes provide the blend with the indispensable complexity.
Serving:
An ideal wine for a sophisticated aperitif, which can accompany the best dishes during a meal. Creamy scallops, grilled white meat or a ripened Comté are only a few examples of the possible pairings of this very flexible cuvée.
